Margaret C. Kelm

August 18, 1940 — February 24, 2010

Margaret C. Kelm, age 69, passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.   She was born in Monroe on August 18, 1940, a daughter of LaVerne and Ethel Rose (Flanagan) Daly.   On October 3, 1959, she was united in marriage to Edward Kelm in Argyle.   Margaret had a passion for helping others, working as Director of the Lions Eye Bank for 30 years, and continuing with other tissue donation organizations afterwards.   During her time at the Eyebank, she received their highest award, the Leonard Heise award.   Her family, especially granddaughters, meant everything to Margaret.   She enjoyed traveling, her dog Rosie, and always had a smile on her face.   She is survived by her husband, Edward; 3 sons, Scott (Kathy), Steve (Donna Marie) and Kevin (Debbie) Kelm; a daughter, Diane Kelm; 4 grand daughters, Amanda, Emily, Jeanne and Heather; a twin sister, Marie Reiser; brothers, Tom (Marilyn), Cecil (Maryann), Ken (Cheryl), Donald (Molly) and Leo (Ginger) Daly; sisters, Carol (Gary) Williams, Rita (Jeff) Simon, and Ruth (Gary) Elderbrook; sister-in-law Patricia Daly; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy; brother, James; nephew, David Daly; and nieces, Julie Daly Rief and Melissa Elderbrook.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5306 Main St., McFarland.   A luncheon will follow the service, and a private family committal will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.   The family will greet friends in Stoughton, on Sunday, February 28 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and again at church in McFarland on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   Memorials may be made in Margaret's name to the McFarland Lioness Club.
