Margaret Murray

MADISON- Margaret W. Murray, age 98, of Madison passed away on March, 20th, 2017 at her home. She was born April 20th, 1918 in Madison, the daughter of Joseph A. Wirka and Salena Casey. She married William F. Murray on August 2nd, 1947 in Madison.

Margaret graduated high school at Madison West, later on to complete her Bachelors at UW Madison. She then moved on to serve in the US Marine Corps as a recruit trainer. After her service, Margaret worked as a secretary for Dr. Epstein and later a secretary at Meriter OBGYN High Risk Clinic. Margaret enjoyed her 25 years she spent volunteering at Meriter gift shop. She also volunteered in many ways at Our Lady Queen of Peace.

Margaret is survived by Daughter Jane (Duane) Stegall; Sister in Law, Virginia Wirka; Grand-daughter Amanda Lewis and her sons Caleb and Cameron; Grandson Jeremy Stegall; Great grand-daughter Annalise Stegall; Grand-daughter Julia (Hank) Dervetski and her sons Marshall and Kai; Grandson Matthew (Kara) Stegall.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband William F. Murray; Brothers Herman, Robert and William.

Family and friends may visit at Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, Madison on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 1:00PM until the time of the funeral service at 3:00PM. Margaret will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
