Margaret Ann Van Weelden

McFarland- Margaret Ann Van Weelden, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 after a short illness with her loved ones nearby. She was born in Madison on April 7, 1937, the daughter of Karl and Margaret Lang. 

Margaret was a lifelong McFarland resident. She graduated from Stoughton High School. On January 26, 1963 Margaret was united in marriage to John Van Weelden in Iowa. She worked as an Insurance Specialist for American Family from over 35 years, retiring in 2000. 

Margaret was a professional volunteer, dedicating over 10,000 hours of service, and loved giving of her time and talents, especially to Second Harvest. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, gaming, and traveling. 

Margaret was the heart of the family, raising three children, Anna Marie (Jeff) Pulvermacher, Lynn (Rick) Hoekstra, and Thomas Van Weelden. She cherished her grandchildren, Aaron, Elizabeth, Sarah, Emily, Jeremy, Jacqueline, and great grandchildren, Bucky, Millie, Tyler, Callan, Genevieve, and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Richard, Frederick, and Karl; and sister, Carol (Don) Courtier. 

Private urn placement will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest.
