Margaret Russo Wajda, 88, died on July 31, 2009 at Capitol Lakes Health Care Center from complications of a stroke. Born  on November 11, 1920, in Vineland, New Jersey, she had been a Madison resident for 20 years, having lived at Meriter Heights, where she was an active volunteer and enjoyed the friendship of many co-residents and the affection of a remarkable staff.   Margaret was a graduate of Vineland High School and lived most of her adult life in Bridgeton, New Jersey, where she raised four sons and worked at a downtown department store.  She enjoyed sight -seeing, reading, and watching old movies.  In recent years she loved to eagle-watch with her son Steve along the Wisconsin River.  She was an excellent baker and her renowned cheesecakes brightened many holiday tables of family and friends.  She was a most loyal mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and, despite her own long-term infirmities, cared for the health and happiness of others around her.  She was interested in current events and remained curious and engaged with the world all the way to  the end of her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Archetto; her second husband, Stephen J. Wajda;  two sons, Robert Archetto and Daniel Archetto;  and one grandson,  Chris Archetto. She is survived by two sons, Steve (Deborah Brandt) Wajda of Madison and Michael F. Wajda (Alison Levie) of West Chester, Pa.; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Private services are planned through Cress Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers or donations, please take a moment to remember Margaret.  The family thanks the staff of Capitol Lakes for the love and impeccable care they provided to their mother for the last five years of her life.                                                              Â
