Margareta Werdan

Margareta Werdan, age 80, died on Thurs. Oct. 9, 2008 surrounded by her family. She will be lovingly remembered for her grace, dignity, and humor. She touched countless lives in her time on this earth and was a wonderful mother and friend. Born in Germany, she was proud of becoming an American citizen and marring Joe Werdan in 1957. They travelled all over her native Germany, and later lived in many places in the United States, as his assignments with the Army changed. Margareta practiced real estate in Libertyville, Illinois for many years. When Joe's health was failing, she became his caregiver, enabling him to spend nine years comfortably at home. She will be deeply missed by her three children; Ellen Werdan of Middleton, Robert (Wendy) Werdan of Libertyville, and Ursula (Linus) Dargis of Sycamore, Ill., and seven grandchildren, Emily and matt Pritzkow, Christine, Katie, and Wesley Werdan, and Monika and Jack Dargis. The family is deeply grateful for the incredible care she received for her lung cancer at U. W. Hospital and HospiceCare. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Dane County ;Humane Society or HospiceCare. Her life will be celebrated on her birthday, Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 1:00 p. m. at HospiceCare, 5395 E.
