Margie A. Dutton died on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Meriter Hospital surrounded by her family.
Margie was born January 8, 1917 in Beach, North Dakota to James and Ann (Medved) Taylor. She moved to Madison as a young child and graduated from Central High School in Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clyde Taylor; her first husband, Leo A. Fuss (1953); her second husband, Robert M. Dutton (1988) and her step daughter, Nancy Dutton.
Margie is survived by her son, Thomas (Janice) Fuss; granddaughter, Shana (Chad) Wuebben; grandson, Jason Fuss (fianc�e Michelle Morton); her great grandchildren, Jacob and Hailey Wuebben and Shelby Martin and her brother, James Taylor.
Margie retired from the University of Wisconsin Department of Spanish and Portuguese after a career spanning more than 20 years. She truly enjoyed her work at the University and her friendships from the department lasted long into her retirement.
She was active in her retirement years volunteering for many years at University Hospital and the Red Cross. She had friendships that spanned her entire life that enriched her retirement years. She was an avid card player. She played bridge with several groups of friends and competed in bridge tournaments. Her biggest regret in her last years was not being able to help others as she had during her lifetime.
In accordance with her wishes there will be a private family service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was a loving mother and caring grandmother and great grandmother.
Margie was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the family would like to thank Holly Irving for all her years visiting and befriending Margie when she was unable to attend church. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at Creekwood Assisted Living in Waunakee for caring for Margie during the last several years of her life.
