Marguita W. Fox passed away on February 23, 2024.

Akron, Ohio was the birthplace of Marguita on May 1, 1928. She was the daughter of Russel A. and Myrel Frances (Butler) Fox. Preceding her in death were her parents, Russel and Myrel, and her younger brother, Russel A. Fox, Jr.

Marguita was a graduate of Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, she was a YWCA Professional Staff Member for 22 years in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wisconsin. In 1976 she moved from Green Bay to Madison and was hired by Dane County as the Director of Adult Community Services. During her 21 years of employment with Dane County, she developed a network of Senior Citizen Centers to provide programs and services for older adults in communities throughout the County.

Marguita was actively engaged in community organizations in Madison. She served for many years as the Governor-appointed representative to the Board of Directors for allocating federal funds to the local AmeriCorps. She served as a member of the Salvation Army Board of Directors for 9 years. She also served as President and Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Madison. During her retirement years, she enjoyed many trips to Europe with the Case Western Travel Club.

In consideration of Marguita’s request, no visitation or memorial service will be held.

Marguita will rejoin family members with an inurnment at the family plot at Park Rose Hill Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
