STOUGHTON- Mari Ann Martin, age 64, died peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Thursday, January 22, 2009. Mari was born in Stoughton, October 7, 1944 a daughter of the late Harold and Ingeborg (Halverson) Gullickson. She was educated in the Stoughton schools graduating from the Stoughton High School in 1962. Prior to her illness she had been employed for a long period of time at the Skaalen Home in Stoughton as a certified nursing assistant. She married Lynn Martin of Stoughton, March 30, 1963. She is survived by: four daughters- Susan (Joe) Knight, Spring Green; Angela (Tom Marsh) Hendrickson, Stoughton; Amy (fiancee- Scott Chazan) Burkhalter, Stoughton; and Kristin (Ben Sperle) Martin, Hatfield, WI; her former husband and father of the children, Lynn Martin, Sun Prairie; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Phyllis) Gullickson, Stoughton; 2 sisters, Ruth (Phillip) Larson, Wisconsin Rapids; and Betty (Jim) Strand, Deerfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Hwy B, Stoughton. The Reverend Scott Geister-Jones will officiate. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:00 am until services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials in lieu of flowers. Mother was a wonderful homemaker. Loved to bake and cook for her family, spending time in the north woods, caring for her dog ""Rosa"" and her cat ""Meeha"". She was an excellent caregiver to her parents, her patients at Skaalen, and her children.
