Deerfield- Marian E. Hauge, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at her home. She was born on March 27, 1924, the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Draeger) Kreuger. Marian attended Jargo School, Deerfield High School and graduated from Edgerton High School. After obtaining her teaching degree from the UW-Whitewater Marian taught at many rural schools until retiring from Cottage Grove Elementary School. On January 26, 1946 she married George Hauge in the Deerfield Parsonage. They farmed all of their married life in the Nora area. Marian enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing euchre and fishing anywhere they would bite. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandson Geoffrey bowl. Marian was a member of St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church and WELCA. She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, George; her children, Jeanene of Madison and Steve of Deerfield; grandson, Geoffrey Hauge of Sun Prairie; sister-in-law, Margie Kreuger of Deerfield; and many relatives and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 siblings, Dorothy (Larry) Balch, Harold ( Selma) Kreuger, Jeanette (Edwin) Tofte, Mildred (Norris) Kittleson and Vernon Kreuger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church, 3494 Oak Park Road, Deerfield, with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Kroghville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield. The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. A special thank you to Pastor Dan.
