Marian Anita Veum

Madison - Marian Anita Veum, age 85 passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Ashwabay Home, Madison. She was born in Sauk County on August 10, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Bergman) Martin. She married Lawrence Veum at Zion Lutheran Church in Westfield Township on July 6, 1955. Together they resided near Cambridge raising their two sons until Lawrence's death in1967, when Marian moved her family to Stoughton and worked at Nazareth House for many years until her retirement. She was a wonderful mother and caregiver. Her greatest joy was time spent with her two sons and their many travels together throughout the United States.

Survivors include her sons Ronald of Verona and Greg of Madison, brother Raymond (Corrine) Martin of Reedsburg, sister-in-law Irene (Delbert) Swain of Cambridge, niece Jacqueline (Steve) Suleski of Madison, nephew James Martin of Reedsburg, and many other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Tiffany Thompson at South Madison Coalition for the Elderly, the staff at Ashwabay and members of Hospice for their care and assistance.

A graveside service will be held at EAST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH CEMETERY, 454 Church Road, Cambridge, on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
