Marianna K. Monahan

Madison - Marianna K Monahan, age 84 passed away on Sunday January 10, 2010 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 23, 1925 in Blue River Wisconsin the daughter of John and Cora Hernan. November 18, 1947 she married the love of her life Walter T Monahan of Soldiers Grove Wisconsin. Along with raising her four children Marianna worked for University Book Store from 1983-1993. Throughout her life she enjoyed card playing, bowling, dancing, trips to Ho-Chunk and family vacations. Marianna was an active parishioner with Queen of Peace church for over 60 years. In their 58 year union Marianna and Walter shared countless hours with extended family. Their home was the welcoming place for anyone in town to lay their hat. She is survived by four of her children, Mark (Christa), Sharon Johnson (Neil Danz), Kim Mayer (Rich), Kelly LaHaie(Kirk). 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. Brothers, Vilas (Camilla), Edward (Kaye). Sisters Dorothy Tadder, Ruth Severson(Bud). Sister --in --law Edith Hernan, Lorraine Hernan and Grace Murphy.

Marianna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, her daughter Christine and brothers Buford, John and Robert.

The family thanks MorCare at Home for their outstanding, compassionate, loving care they have given to Marianna. Thank you to Hospice Care Inc as they guided Marianna and her family through her final journey.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CHURCH 401 South Owen Dr Madison. Monsignor Kenneth Fiedler will be officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass.
