MADISON - Marianne F. Miragia, 72, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 22, 2018, at her home in Madison, Wisconsin. She was born September 16, 1946, in New York, New York, the daughter of Joseph R. and Florence T. (Verdina) Miragia.
Marianne grew up in East Meadow, NY and graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Class of 1964. Following graduation, she attended the SUNY Nursing School and became a school nurse. Shortly thereafter she relocated to Wheaton, IL and began work for the Joint Commission (JCAHO) where she made many close friends. In 1979 she married Michael Amling, and they settled in Wheaton. In 1994 they divorced. She continued her career as a health care consultant and in 2009 became a Certified Professional Coach. She had several small businesses over the years including as a consultant, an interior designer, and as a life coach. She had many hobbies and interests, including her granddaughter, faeries, spirituality, early American life and furnishings, cooking, baking, and entertaining in her home. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph. Surviving are her son, Peter Amling and his wife, Nicole, of Chicago; and her granddaughter Grace.
A service of remembrance was held at noon, Sunday, December 16 at Antico Posto Restaurant, Oak Brook, IL. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Those who wish to remember Marianne in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the charity of his or her choice. Arrangements by Cress Funeral Home, Madison, WI.
