Marie Joyce Comeau

M. Joyce Comeau passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI after a short illness.   She was born November 20, 1924 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.   Her parents were Joseph and Selma (Wendorf) Mayer.   She graduated from Tomahawk High School. After graduation from Wausau Beauty Culture School, she moved to Milwaukee.   In 1948, she married Robert E. Comeau and after residing in Green Bay, Stevens Point and South Milwaukee, they moved to Madison in 1964. In 1992, Joyce retired from J.C. Penny Company after 25 years.   She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church since residing in Madison. Joyce enjoyed bowling and participated in three leagues. She is survived by her sons, Gary R. (Colleen),   Robert J. (Kaia), and Steven J. and daughters, Mary J. (Jim Walworth), Diane M. (special friend, Allen Walters), and grandchildren Kristin Ramsdale, Laura (Paul) Koehler, Aubrey and Mariah Comeau, Kendra and Nathan Walworth, and Asia Comeau (fiance, Sebastian Cabiro). Joyce is also survived by three great grandchildren Hannah, Gavin and Sam Koehler, a brother, Joseph (June) Mayer and a sister, Delphine (Tom) Silver and many beloved nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on January 4, 1969. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive in Madison at 11:00 AM.   Monsignor Ken Fiedler will officiate. Visitation will begin an hour before the service at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.   Joyce's family would like to thank her relatives and friends for their love and concern and would like to extend their appreciation to the outstanding UW Hospital and Clinics staff for their excellent and compassionate care.
