Marie Luella Fisher

Marie Luella Fisher, age 99, passed away on November 27, 2008 at home in New York City.   Marie was born on January 31, 1909 in Maple Hill, Kansas, the youngest child of Louis and Mary Halverson.   In 1916, the family moved to Oklahoma, north of Pauls Valley and established the Halverson Ranch.   Her advanced education was from East Central Teachers College, Ada, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater, Oklahoma.   Marie taught in a rural school for 9 years and married Ellsworth Fisher on April 12, 1937 before moving to Wisconsin in 1941.   She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed gardening, entertaining and numerous scout activities.   Survivors include a daughter; Linda (Mitchell) Lewis of New York, New York, a daughter-in-law Teresa Fisher of Madison, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Nicholas Fisher, Elizabeth and Merrick Lewis.   Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, her son Steven L. Fisher of Madison, Wisconsin, two sisters and four brothers.   There will be no visitation or funeral service.
