Marie Kessenich

Waunakee - Marie Kessenich, age 93, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the Lighthouse in Sun Prairie. She was born on November 19, 1921 in Springfield, Wisconsin the daughter of Felix and Elizabeth (Miller) Diederich. Marie was united in marriage Jacob "Joe" Kessenich on April 27, 1946. She had a passion for cooking and feeding her family, always preparing big meals and baking Christmas cookies. Marie loved playing cards and dancing.

She is survived by her sons, Steve, (Eileen) Kessenich and Ken (Sonny) Kessenich; grandchildren, Jamie (Bob) Kessenich, Kimberly (Steve) Emerson, Josh (Tara) Kessenich and Nikki (Tyson) Roessler; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jordan, Mackenzie, Kaylie, Jacob, Lexi and Leiland; a sister, Eileen Meicher; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; sisters, Catherine Miller and Lucille Theis, and a brother, Jerome Diederich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 209 South St., Waunakee, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Monsignor James Gunn will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
