Marie E. Wescott

Marie E. (Engsberg) Wescott, age 91, passed away on May 20, 2023. She was born at home on the Engsberg family farm in Milford Township in 1931 to Arthur and Doris (Schimelpfenig) Engsberg. Marie was a graduate of Lake Mills High School, Class of 1947. In 1949 she married William A. Wescott of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Wilma of Fort Atkinson, and her long-term partner Joseph Heinzen. She is survived by her sister Lois Zimmerman (Lake Mills), her sons Gary (Mary) Wescott of Stevens Point, Gregory (Mary) Wescott of Lake Mills, and her daughter Gale (Joseph) Ruf of Madison, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and several nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Lake Mills Moravian Church, 301 College Street, Lake Mills, WI 53551. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., worship service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jamie Almquist and Pastor Dave Sobek officiating this joint celebration of Marie’s life.
