Marillyn Syftestad

Marillyn (Weiner) Syftestad, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Paul B. Syftestad. They raised three daughters in Columbus, WI and there the family was quite active in the St. Jerome Parish.

Marillyn was well-known for her baking and cooking skills, showcasing them in numerous school bake sale fundraisers, church dinners, and working as a school cook. The family spent free time at their cottage on Lake Mendota and in 1981, they moved there permanently.

Marillyn is survived by her three daughters, Deb Robbins, Chris (Steve) Gilles, Jodie (Glenn) Holmes; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A private mass was held to honor Marillyn and burial followed at St. Mary of the Lake Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary of the Lake Church or Agrace Hospice.
