Marilyn Berryman

McFarland- Marilyn J. Berryman, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Union, IL on February 23, 1933, the daughter of Clarence and Eleanor (Hertel) Holtz. Marilyn attended Elgin, IL schools. In 1950 she met Donald Berryman at Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin and on July 3, 1953 they were married there. Together they moved to Dodgeville and then to Madison. Marilyn was the manager of Mother To Be Maternity store at West Towne Mall for several years. In 1976 she and Don moved to McFarland. With Marilyn's tender care and love of babies she opened her home to her family and 41 foster babies. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling for 11 years, bingo, occasional trips to Ho-Chunk, and collecting salt and pepper shakers, owls, clowns, Pugs and Poodles. Marilyn loved family get-togethers, holidays and baking. She was a very proud grandmother, especially to six grandsons serving in the U.S. Military. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Don; six children, Steve (Jill), Cindy (Carl) Orloff, Chuck (Terry), Scott (Maria), Tammy (Robert) McKeown and Heather; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Betty (Jim) Donlea. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Roselawn Mausoleum Chapel, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home in McFarland. A special thank you to the staff of Agrace HospiceCare Inc.
