Madison -- Marilyn P. Martin, age 82, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 4, 2010 .  She was born in Mauston, Wis. on October 20th,1927 to Ray and Adelaide (Godfrey) Pride, graduated from West High School in 1945 and attended the University of Wisconsin (Kappa Delta).  Marilyn was a gentle spirit who was quick to laugh and generous of heart.  She enjoyed crafts, reading, cooking and friendships, but her true life's work was being the best wife, mom and grandma that she could be.  We have been so blessed to have her.  She was married to Richard Martin in 1949 and is survived by her husband of 60 years, two beloved children Thomas (Lissa) Martin and Linda (Bill) Alexander, two cherished grandchildren, Austin and Aubree Alexander, step grandson Logan (Kelly) Suhr, niece Marilyn Pride, nephew Dr. James (Ann) Pride and cousin Sue Caulum. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert Pride and infant twin sons.     Memorial services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd. , on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Jerry Amstutz officiating.  A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Care or the American Cancer Society.  A special thank you to Dr. John Ewalt and staff, and to Hospice Care. Â
