Marilyn Wendland

Madison - Marilyn Ann Wendland, age 85, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Marilyn was born January 2, 1927 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. Harold and Mardicie Howell Breakenridge, D.V.M. She married Eugene "Gene" Wendland on June 26, 1954. Gene preceded her in death on December 8, 1988.
Marilyn was a registered nurse. Her last years of employment were at University Hospitals - Madison, until her retirement in January 1992. She volunteered at Salvation Army Soup Kitchen as well as Global Express. Marilyn was an active member of Trinity United Methodist congregation.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Craig (Mary) Wendland; granddaughter Lauren; and grandson, Ryan.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Sylvan Crossings and Southern Care Hospice for the love and care given to Marilyn.
Services for Marilyn will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11 am at SUNSET MEMORY GARDENS CHAPEL, 7302 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53717. The family will greet friends and guests at 10:30 am.
