Marion Lewis

SUN PRAIRIE – Marion A. Lewis passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Marion was born on June 6th, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Wilbert and Cora (Bang) Showers, Sr. She was the youngest of eight children.

Marion graduated from Madison East High School in 1964. She was employed with American Family Insurance for many years. She married Dennis Morfey on April 24, 1965. They had two children, Alan and Kimberly. They later divorced but remained close friends.

It was at American Family that Marion met her second husband, Allan Lewis. Al and Marion were married on December 31, 1976. They were married for 41 years. Al and Marion made their home in Sun Prairie, WI.

Marion’s favorite pastimes were quilting, tending to her flowers and spoiling her grandchildren.

Marion is survived by her son, Alan Morfey (Jody Simon) of Poynette; daughter Kimberly (Brad) Ingersoll of Sun Prairie; her first husband and lifetime friend, Dennis Morfey.  She was the proud grandmother of Danielle and Jessica Ingersoll, Austin Veek and Emily Simon.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Lewis; her sister, Doris Lendborg; brother in law, James Lendborg, her parents and four brothers.

Private services were held at Highland Memory Garden in Cottage Grove, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare in Marion’s name.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI, Drs. Michael Frontiera and Michael Aughey for their care over the years and the many faces at the Sun Prairie and Columbus Dean Clinics who always greeted Marion with a smile.
