Mariuccia Maria Skallerud

Mariuccia Maria Skallerud, age 87, passed away on Aug. 14, 2010. She was born in Tuscany, Italy on March 2, 1923. Maria moved to Wisconsin in 1964 with her husband Clarence and son Frank. She worked for Freeman Shoes in Beloit and later at Wolenbergs in Madison. Maria enjoyed her family, sewing for friends and especially gardening. She was very involved with TOPS and Yarahara Fishermans Club for many years. She is survived by her son Frank (Judy) Pettineo; grandchildren, Anna Maria Pettineo, Joseph (Brooke) Pettineo, and Carl Pettineo; great-grandchildren, Jacoby, Zachary and Brianna and many other relatives and friends. Maria was predeceased by her parents, Elisa and Guseppe Fabiani; her first husband Michele Pettineo and second husband Clarence Skallerud and her five sisters and a brother. There will be a Memorial Service on Thurs. Aug. 19, 2010 at 11:30 a. m. at Cress Funeral Service, 6021 University Ave. with Chaplin Bob Groth presiding. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 10:30 a. m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank HospiceCare and the South Madison Coalition for their care and support.
