Marjorie Perkins

COTTAGE GROVE, WI - Marjorie Grace Perkins (94) of Southside Madison's Burr Oaks community was reunited with her husband, Arnold Perkins on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Through the generations Marjorie has affectionately held many titles and enthusiastically introduced herself as Maggie Grace.
Maggie Grace was born to Blanche (nee "Dunne") and James Copus on January 10, 1925 (the 7th of 13 children) in Freeman, WI; attended school Viroqua, WI; married to Arnold Perkins on May 23, 1946, in La Crosse, WI; and the married couple purchased a house in the Madison Burr Oaks community. Over the generations Burr Oaks became a family with Maggie Grace and Arnold being lovingly known as Grandma Marge and Grandpa Arnie.
Maggie Grace passed peacefully at home in Cottage Grove of natural causes. She is survived by: her daughters Linda (Harold) Drews and Cynthia (Jeff) Whitehurst; sisters, Violet Smith and Mary (Wayne) Harmes; 1 sister-in-law Elsie Perkins; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and adoringly remembered by the multitude of people who became extended family by Maggie Grace. Proceeded in death by: her husband, Arnold; 2 sons, Steven and Jeff; her parents; and 7 brothers and 5 sisters.
She was passionate about: St. James' Church's Parishioners, services, and their functions; shopping garage sales and thrift shops; pressing her luck at casinos; eating and visiting at Family Parkway Restaurant; and seeing the smiles on the children's faces as she carried out her profession as a bus aide well into her 80's.
As Maggie Grace's years waned to months and finally days special appreciation to St. James (Sister Zita); Agrace Hospice Magenta Team; Care Wisconsin; Comfort Keepers (Judy); and special friend Vi Dick who visited Maggie Grace on a weekly basis. In conclusion, a heartful appreciation to Cress Funeral Home (Kevin).
It was the wishes of Maggie Grace to not have a traditional farewell gathering and to fondly remember her dancing on the tables as she has now joined her family and friends in God's Home.
