Davenport, IA - Marjorie J Tevik, age 79 died Thursday, March 4, 2010. Marjorie was born January 30, 1931 in Duluth, MN to Einer and Merel Peterson. She was the younger sister to Mary and Jim. She graduated from Morgan Park High School and held an office job in the steel plant. She met and married Robert L. Tevik on February 12, 1955 in Duluth. They enjoyed 38 years together while raising 3 sons in Madison. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1993. She lovingly raised 3 sons while being a homemaker; they are Greg (Lila) Tucson, AZ, Dan (Angela) Bettendorf, IA, and Jim (Angie) Madison, WI. She worked part time for the University Book Store when the kids were grown up. She was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace church where she was always ready to make a dish for funeral luncheons. She had many good friends in Madison with whom she enjoyed plays and dinners out. She liked bowling and participated in many leagues over the years. Being a mom of boys, she was an avid Green Bay Packer and Badger fan. She treasured the time spent in the summers at the family cabin on Prairie Lake in Minnesota. She loved her grandchildren who called her Nana. Her Grandsons include Benjamin, Aaron and Jacob in Tucson, AZ, Zachery and Caleb in Bettendorf, IA and her only granddaughter Kelsey in Madison, WI. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Marjorie will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:30 AM at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, WI 53711. A visitation will be held prior to service beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Memorials in Marjorie's name may be gifted to Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance, South Central Wisconsin Chapter, 517 N. Segoe Rd. #301, Madison, WI 53705, or the Alzheimer's Association Chapter in your area.
