Mark Alan Fredrick

August 20, 1955 — October 29, 2010

Mark Alan Fredrick died October 29, 2010 peacefully and unexpectedly at home.   He was born August 20, 1955 to Florinda ""Linda"" (Langum) and Earl Fredrick in Madison, Wisconsin. Beginning as a young child, inspired by his maternal grandfather, Mark grew up as a musician.   He loved writing as well as performing and was especially proud of his accomplishments as lead singer and song writer in a regional band called ""The And"" in the 1980s.   Recently, he was working on a tribute to his father and sister. Mark also worked for many years sandblasting and painting for his uncle, Andy Langum, with whom he shared a special bond.   Mark was a loving and compassionate person, highly valuing his spiritualness and family.   The birth of his son Aaron was the happiest moment of his life, and he treasured every moment he had with him. Mark is survived by his son, Aaron Fredrick, of Richmond, Indiana; his mother, Florinda Fredrick of Madison; sisters Tracy (Harvey) Schmidt, New Glarus, WI, Andrea (Steve) Matera, Canton, MI; nieces Jennifer Matera, Keriann and Kelsey Schmidt; nephews Michael Matera, Maxwell and Andrew ""AJ"" Horne, Deforest, WI; aunts and uncles Laura (Bob) Faber, Nathalie (Gene) Campbell, Faye Langum, and Howard Henning; and many cousins and friends.   Mark is further survived by his friend and previous wife Lori Pennington; and Scott Horne. Mark was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his father, Earl Fredrick; his sister Kristin Horne; an uncle, Andrew Langum III; and two aunts, Mary Jane Coughlin and Carol Henning. A gathering celebrating Mark's life will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI following a visitation at 9:30 a.m. Mark will be greatly missed by all who knew him.   We know you are watching over us, singing now with the angels in heaven.   ""Life isn't the same without you, Life isn't the same anymore..."" -- Mark Fredrick
