Mark left this world in a tragic way on July 27th, 2021.
He was born February 23, 1961, in Madison to Frederick and Fayalene (Schaller) Ryan, both of who preceded him in death.
Mark was a lifelong resident of Madison, graduating from Madison East High School in 1980, Madison Area Technical College in 1983, and Edgewood College in 1995. He was employed by Madison Metropolitan School District and Wisconsin Trails. Mark was a very strong Mental Health Advocate, volunteering for NAMI and Meriter Nursing Home. He organized an advocacy walk for mental health parity from the State Capitol to Mount Horeb in 2001, also speaking to a Senate Committee on this issue, He himself struggled with health conditions most of his adult life.
Music was a very important part of his life, especially the music of the 60s. Also, Mark had a very strong love for his family and friends, never hesitating to jump into a friendly conversation with anyone.
Mark is survived by a brother, Dennie Ryan, of Blue Mounds; a sister, Bonnie Miller, of DeForest and David Ryan; two nephews, Kably Ryan, of Blue Mounds; and Jesse Miller (Joanna) and a grand-niece Jasmin Miller, Rancho Cucamonga, California, also his close friends Pete, Mike, and Laurie.
We would like to thank the staff at St Mary’s Hospital, Amanda Henchel at Journey, and Police Officer Steve Chvala.
There will be a graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery, Madison - Friday, August 6th at 11 am.
