Marlene Spangler

Marlene R. Spangler was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin on January 9, 1944. She passed away peacefully at her home in Waunakee on December 1, 2017.

Family meant more than anything in the world to Marlene. She was a devoted wife, proud mother and a loving grandmother. She was the glue that held the entire family together. In addition, Marlene was an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Celine Dion.

Marlene had a deep and unwavering faith in God. She always believed that He has a plan for all of us, that everything happens for a reason, and that His angels are constantly at work in all of our lives.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David, as well as her children, Michael Spangler, Madison WI and William (Leslie) Spangler, Eau Claire, WI; her grandchildren, Sylvia, Nolan, and Charlie Spangler and Alex Falk and Justin Bartus; great-grandson, Sebastian Falk; her siblings, Lauren Havey, Altamonte Springs, FL, Sharon Pickett, Milwaukee, WI, Loretta (Jerry) Maly, Monona, WI and Dennis (Bonnie) Havey, Stoughton, WI; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Evelyn Havey, and her sister, Penny Eifert.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee. Msgr James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
