Madison - Martha Jane Coldsnow Gebaur Grabbit passed away March 6, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Center in Madison, WI, after a fall. Martha was born in Kansas City, Missouri on Nov. 18, 1922, to Alfred and Ethel (Humphrey) Coldsnow. After attending Northeast High School and Business College, she married Arthur William Gebaur, Jr., a United States Air Force Cadet. They spent eleven years in service, living in Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Louisiana, the Philippine Islands and Oklahoma, where their daughter, Peggy, was born. After her husband's death in the Korean War, Martha relocated to San Diego, California, where she lived for 40 years, marrying Louis P. Grabbit, and working 32 years as an elementary school secretary. Louie died in 1989. In 1995 Martha joined her extended family in Madison, Wisconsin where she was active in High Point Church and her grandchildren's lives, hosting birthday parties and attending sporting events.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Peggy Gebaur Bugg; son in law, Christopher Bugg, and their three children, Peter Bugg (fiance Melissa McGurgan), Colin Bugg (Emily Burt), and Ellen Bugg. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.
A memorial service for will be held at HIGH POINT CHURCH, 7702 Old Sauk Road, Madison, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 12:00 noon.
Memorials may be made to High Point Church or Agrace Hospice Center.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sebring Assisted Living Care, the St. Mary's Hospital staff for their care and council, the loving people at Agrace Hospice Center, who made a hard time less difficult, and especially Mary Free, Martha's dear friend, who cared for her.
