Martha Ruesch

Martha L. Ruesch, age 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2015 at St. Mary's Care Center, her home for the last 13 years. Martha was born January 25, 1958 in Madison, daughter to Fredolin A. and Dorothea (Briscoe) Ruesch. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School and the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where she obtained her degree in German. In her youth, Martha was a wonderful artist and avid reader. She bravely endured Progressive Multiple Sclerosis for 40 years and was an inspiration to many through her sparkling brown eyes and her shining smile. Martha enjoyed music, Concerts on the Square and listening to Public Radio.

Martha is survived by her sister Margaret; brother Roderick (Barbara); sisters Mary (Kennan) Pomeroy and Dorothea (Allyn) Watson; sister-in- law Mary Ann; nieces Cyndi , Stephanie, Caty, Michelle, Haley and Elizabeth; nephews Matthew, Aaron and Charles; and many extended family, both here and abroad. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and brother Leo.

A Memorial Mass for Martha will held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4736 County Hwy D in Altdorf, Wisconsin. Inurnment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Martha's family would like to extend deep gratitude to St. Mary's Care Center for their many helping hands and heartfelt care. Though Martha struggled to speak, they lovingly interpreted her every need.
