Sun Prairie-Marvin F. Mundt, age 77, passed away on Monday, Aug.31, 2009, at his home in Sun Prairie. He was born on July 2, 1932 in Marshall, WI the son of Herman and Sarah (Hein) Mundt. He was a graduate of Sun Prairie High School and the UW of Madison with a bachelor's degree in agriculture education. He majored in agriculture and minored in science. Marv served with the U S Army during the Korean War from Oct. 1951-Aug. 1953. Marv was united in marriage to Helen Hoopes on April 20, 1957 in Sun Prairie. He was employed with American Family Insurance as a property loss director for 28 years. Survivors include a son Frank (Susan) Mundt of Overland Park, KS; daughters Sandra (Steve) Meyer of Pardeeville and Linda (Ken) Malenke of Sun Prairie; grandchildren Cassandra and Alexander Mundt, Christopher Kiersten and Kendra Malenke; sisters Doris Tennant of Sun Prairie and Carolyn Wilcox of Sun Prairie and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen just four weeks ago. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harold Mundt. Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Drive with Rev. Julie Krahn officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Military rites will be conducted by the Sun Prairie area veterans. In lieu of flowers, memorial to Our Savior's Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
