Marvin Alvin Ratzlow

SUN PRAIRIE

Marvin A. Ratzlow, age 85, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Chicago. He was born February 27, 1923, in the Town of Medina, WI, the son of Ernest and Ruby (Knapton) Ratzlow. Prior to his retirement in 1997, Marvin had been employed by the Boehck Equipment Company in Milwaukee. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Sun Prairie Rotary Club, an avid coin collector and loved traveling with his family. On February 3, 1945, Marvin was united in marriage with Ruth Kreger in Sun Prairie.

In addition to his wife Ruth, survivors include a son Gary (Charlene) Ratzlow of Loves Park, IL; a daughter Karen (Doug Dummer) Squires of Sun Prairie and 4 grandchildren: Byron (Anne), Kimberlee, Jason and Tara (Todd). Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 2 at PEACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH 232 Windsor St. with Reverend Luke Werre officiating. Friends may call from 3 -- 6 pm Sunday, February 1 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME and again at the church on Monday from 10 am until time of service. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the American Heart Association or Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
