Mary Emmert

Madison - Mary Frances Wahlgren Emmert, age 89, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was born July 18, 1922 in Oklahoma City. Mary was a Director of Education for St. Luke's Methodist Church, Oklahoma City, for 18 years. She was also very active with UMW, Church Women United and Gideon's International Auxiliary. Mary is survived by two sons, Brad (Rita) of Madison, Ken (Carla) of Taos, NM; two grandchildren, Michael (Kathryn) and Kyle, a step grandchild, Samantha and two step great-grandchildren, Lilly and Savannah. She is further survived by two sisters, Evelyn Summers of Philadelphia, PA and Kathryn (Ted) Conner of Tucson, AZ. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy. Funeral services will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6101 University Ave. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ty presiding. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon's International, Asbury UMW or Church Women United.
