Mary Jane Kepke

December 20, 1926 — December 11, 2010

Madison-Mary Jane Kepke, age 83, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Meriter Hospital, Madison. She was born on December 20, 1926 in Madison the daughter of Rupert & Ruth (Severson) Kilgust. She was united in marriage to Clyde H. Kepke on February 2, 1966 in Madison and they were married for over 19 years until his death on July 5, 1985. Mary Jane was a lifelong resident of Madison and graduated from Madison East High School, Class of 1944. She was employed with the State of Wisconsin with various departments for 20 years as a clerical work. Mary Jane was a member of First Lutheran Church, Stoughton and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Madison. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, house work, attending church and travelling. Her most recent vacation, in 2009, included travelling Route 66 to Amarillo, TX She enjoyed sceinic Upper Peninsula of MI and Copper Harbor, the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and the Eagle River/Boulder Junction area in Wisconsin. Mary Jane is survived by her son, Kenneth of Madison; Ken's e brother, John (Alberta) Kepke of Michigan and Ken's e sisters, Jeri (David) Dunn ofTennessee and Beve Denruiter of Middleton;and aeveral friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Frederick E. Kilgust in April of 2009 and several cousins in the Madison area. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Lehman officiating. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Memorials to First Lutheran Church, Stoughton or the American Heart Association would be appreiciated. Mary Jane greatly appreciated the care and attention she received her final days by FLC pastors, doctors, neighbors and family.
