Mary Carol Lohr, age 67 of Madison, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022, surrounded by family. Mary was born on October 19, 1954, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The daughter of Wayne and Esther (Fowler) Williams. Mary attended her beloved Lincoln Junior High School, Madison Memorial High School, Madison Area Technical College, and UW Madison.
Mary worked at Cuna Mutual and Madison Metropolitan School District. However, her greatest love was staying home with her children.
On April 7, 1984, she married Philip Lohr the love of her life. She is survived by her husband Phil, sister Ellen Risley of Atlanta, three children Rebecca (Kurt) Huddleston Symons of Madras Oregon, Ellyn Lohr of Indianapolis, and Peter Lohr of Madison. And two grandchildren Olivia and Grayson Symons
She enjoyed camping trips especially to Kohler Andre State Park, bike rides with Phil and The Andy Griffith Show (especially the pickle episode). She had a great passion for animals, especially dogs.
The family would like to thank friends and neighbors for visiting and bringing food.
A gathering to celebrate Mary's life will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. on February 19, 2022, at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, Moments Hospice, or The Dane County Humane Society.
