Mary Ann Rasmussen, age 88, died September 5, 2010. Born in a log cabin in Stone Lake, Wisconsin June 2, 1922. She married Nathanial Rasmussen April 26th, 1943.  Mary Ann  carried a great love for nature and God. She raised eight children with care and devotion, and had a creative passion that found expression in many forms: from hooked rug hangings transformed from yarn scraps from numerous knitted sweaters to barn wood paintings.  She enjoyed going to auctions, refinishing furniture, chair caning and oil painting.  She penned several chapbooks of poetry and spent seven years writing her memoirs. She prepared elegant dinners for armies of family and friends. There was always room  at Mary Ann's table.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Nathanial, and three brothers and sisters. She is survived by children Susan (Sam) Goodman, Chevy Chase, Md; Steve, Madison; Peg (Walt) Schroeder, DeForest; Eric (Nanette), Madison; Christine (Bob) Gunderson, Beloit; Karen (Scott) Weier, Prairie du Chien; Paul (Kare), Oconomowoc; and Clare (Dick) Radtke, Madison, also 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and counting.
