Mary Schwenn

Waunakee-Mary G. (Ziegler) Schwenn, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg. She was born on July 8, 1932 in the Township of Westport the daughter of Pat & Margaret (Esser) Schumacher. Mary was united in marriage with Stanley P. Ziegler on November 22, 1951 and he preceded her in death. She then married James Schwenn on April 10, 1969 and he also preceded her in death. Mary has been a lifelong resident of the Waunakee area. She attended school in a one room school house, Black Wood School House, Westport. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to gardens, animals and taking care of children. She was employed as a waitress/bar tender at Rennebohm's Drug Store, Cozy Corner Bar and the Village Green all in Middleton. Mary is survived by her beloved family which include her children, Michael (Ginger) Ziegler, Colleen (Francis) Meinholz, Cathy (Shell) Hodgson, Vickie Ziegler, Stanley J. Ziegler and Walter "Wally" (Wendy) Schwenn; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patty Brown and Kathleen (Richard) Pulvermacher; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her two husbands she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Sharon, and brothers, Jerome & William. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of The Lake Catholic Church, 5460 Mary Lake Road-Westport. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, Waunakee and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be held in the church's cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Agrace Hospice or to the charity of choice.
