MaryJane Conner

Mary Jane Conner died peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Capital Lakes Health Care Center.   She was born on August 8, 1922 in Waupun, Wisconsin.   Her family moved to Watertown, Wisconsin where she graduated from high school and was active in First Congregational Church activities.   She later lived in Elkhart, Indiana and moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1975  retiring from CarpetPlus of Wisconsin, formerly named Carpetland.   Aunt Mary enjoyed her ""grand"" children; her brother's dogs Ashlee and Taffy; the Red Hat club, and her English friends.   She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Eliza Conner.   She is survived by her brother, Howard E. Conner of Madison; nephews, Daniel Conner (Marla) of Lake Mills and Geoffrey Conner (Alison) of Madison; niece, Suzie Conner-Dieter (Daniel) of Madison; and grand nieces and nephew: Isabel and Hannah Conner, Julia and Lauren Conner-Dieter, and Martin Conner.   The family will greet friends and share memories on Friday, February 20, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. -- 6:00 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road.   The family would like to thank the excellent staff at HospiceCare, Care Wisconsin and Capitol Lakes Health Center for their compassionate care.   The family would also like to express gratitude to the residents at Rosewood Villas for their support and friendship to Mary Jane.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E.
