Mary Jane Olson

Stoughton- Mary Jane Olson, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 due to complications from a stroke. She was born on March 15, 1943, the daughter of Thorris “Slim” and LaVerne Hofland.

Mary Jane graduated from Stoughton High School in 1962. On January 19, 1963 she married Ronald Olson. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises to various destinations.

Mary Jane was a charter member of the Stoughton Lionesses, and member of the Rebekah Lodge. She loved spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s activities. Mary Jane enjoyed having lunch with her girls, Carrie and Amy, at Sugar and Spice Eatery, watching war movies, and reading books.

She is survived by her three children, Carla, David, and Michael (Jennifer) Olson; five grandchildren, Tracie (Nash) Bauer, Jordann (Chris) Wilberg, Taylor (Andrew) Riddle, Hunter (Grace), and Hannah (Jacob) Olson; two great grandchildren, Tucker and Khaleesi; sister, Alma (Delmer) Dahl; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Alice (Bart) Barton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Road B, Stoughton, with Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Monday at church.
