Matthew Brummer

EVANSVILLE
Matthew H. Brummer, age 49 passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 after a long struggle with Myotonic Dystrophy. He was born December 18, 1963 in Sacramento, CA to Thomas and Marlene (Hathway) Brummer. Matt moved around the country with his family until his father retired from the Air Force and they settled in Wisconsin. In June of 1995, he married Melissa Johnson and in 2003, they moved to Evansville. He worked at various janitorial jobs until his health forced him to retire.

Matt is survived by his wife, Melissa; mother Marlene; brothers, Craig (Donna) and Randy; sister, Debra Vike; mother-in-law, Lois Johnson; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas in 2012.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home, Stoughton. In addition, an informal gathering will be held on Sunday at Matt and Melissa's residence beginning at 1 pm and ending at 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
