Maurene Lillian England

Sun Prairie -- Maurene Lillian England, age 73, passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at her home in Sun Prairie. She was born on April 6, 1936 in Mobridge South Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Maltby) Martinson. She was united in marriage to Merlyn England on August 6, 1954 in Madison. Maurene enjoyed family history, taking walks in the field, reading and doing crafts. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them.

Maurene is survived by her husband, Merlyn England; her children, Michael (Connie) England, Larry (Michelle) England, Marcia (Tom) Brown, Lauria (Tom) Berndt, Cheryl (Sidney) Berndt, Melinda (Michael) Ladwig, Deanna England and Lee (Patti) England; 19 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; brothers, Lester (Darlene) Martinson and Jack (Anna Mae Brue) Martinson; sisters, her twin MaryAnn (Wayne) England and June (Donald) Lee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Maurene was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Marvin, Harry and Dallas Martinson.

A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Burke Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 3, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
