Max R. Crow

October 21, 1940 — February 26, 2011

Max Robert Crow, age 70 passed away on Saturday, February 26 surrounded by his family that loved him so much.  Max was born in Madison to Anna (McDermott) Crow and Max Harold Crow and had 10 brothers and sisters.  Max was the epitome of the saying ""When life serves you lemons -- make lemonade"".  He struggled with many medical problems throughout his entire life, but those that were close to him knew that he never complained.  He was one of the strongest men around and this world was a brighter a place with him.  Max had a special relationship with each of his brothers and sisters.  Also, everyone that knew Max understood his special love was his dog, Brandy.                                                                                                                                     Max worked in many different positions throughout his life and was one of the most amazing entrepreneurs that ever lived.  He held positions with Gardner's Bakery, St. Mary's Hospital, the State of Wisconsin Maintenance Department, Rennebohms, worked with his father at Buildwell Construction and with his Aunt Faye doing surveys.  He also worked at Madison Newspapers in the early 1960's having many routes.  Additionally, Max owned 2 very successful janitorial and carpet cleaning businesses, Squeeky Clean and Clean Sweep.  Many of his brothers and sisters forged their special relationships with Max helping in these businesses.  Max had an amazing talent of knowing how to deal with people, thus growing his business into a very successful cleaning company that many businesses benefited from.                                                                            Max is survived by his brothers, James (Julie) Crow, Oregon, Thomas (Susan) Crow, Sheboygan, his sisters, Barbara (Bernie) Heinemann, Sun Prairie, Alice Crow, Madison, Romona Stutz, Madison, Patricia (Steve) Olp, Madison, Terri Pillar, Waunakee, Kay (John) Cardella, Pennsylvania.  He had many nieces and nephews that were proud to call him ""Uncle Max"":  Robert Heinemann, Sun Prairie, Beth (Jeff) Emerson, Spooner, Jeff (Sara) Crow, Louisiana, Jason, (Deserai) Crow, Colorado, Holly Olp, Madison, Nicholas Olp, Madison, Travis Crow, Minnesota, Kyle (Megan) Crow, Greenfield, Katrina Crow, Sheboygan, Sarah Klose, Appleton, Stephen (Michelle) Crow, Philadelphia, Patrick (Christi) Stutz, Cottage Grove, Kevin Stutz, Cottage Grove,  Michael (Amanda) Stutz, Cottage Grove, Luke and Erik Pillar, Waunakee, John Thomas Cardella, Maryland, Michael Cardella, Pennsylvania, and many cousins.     Max is preceded in death by his parents, Anna (McDermott) Crow and Max Harold Crow, Madison, his brother Frank, sister Mary Louise and his grandparents, Irma and Merle Daugherty.                                                              Max's family would like to thank the many caregivers that helped Max along his final journey, the staff at Belmont Nursing Home, Care Wisconsin and the Doctors and Staff at the University of Wisconsin Hospital.  We also wish to thank, Rev. Father John-Brian Paprock who assisted Max after his death to pass from this world to the next with great care and compassion.  We will be forever thankful to all of these people that were a big part of Max's final days.  This world will be a little less bright without Max Crow, but he leaves behind a very important message to those that are left:  Love your family and fight the good fight!                                                                             A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 5 at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.  Fr. Kent A. Schmitt will officiate.
