MADISON - Max L. Simansky, age 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 in Madison. Max was born on February 1, 1921, in New York City. He was the son of Anna and Philip Simansky. He graduated Stuyvesant High School and City College of New York and went on to a long, distinguished career as a certified public accountant. He was a partner in a leading CPA firm in New York, where he mentored many young professionals, some of whom become partners themselves. He gave unselfishly of his experience, caring, and good humor to all he touched. He was committed for his entire life to social justice.
Max is survived by his wife, Charlotte, to whom he was devoted for 64 years of marriage, his daughter, Anita (Lenny) of Madison, his son, Kenny (Karen) of Philadelphia, and his grandsons Michael of Madison and Matthew (Vanessa) of Philadelphia. He leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. Max was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Millie and Rose.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 11:30 am at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Laurie Zimmerman presiding.
The family thanks the staff at Capitol Lakes Retirement and Agrace HospiceCare for the loving and dedicated care they provided to Max.
