Maxine Francis-Drinkard

MADISON-Maxine E. Francis, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Rest Haven Health Care Center in Verona. Maxine was born in Prescott, AR to Gordon and LuBerta (Scroggins) Johnson on July 18, 1928 and moved with her family to Madison, WI in 1942. She married Copeland Francis (USAAF) in 1946.
Maxine worked as an operating room technician at Madison General Hospital from where she retired after 39 years of service. She was a P.W.G.M. of Unity Grand Chapter O.E.S. Wisconsin and active in her church.
Maxine is survived by son, Daniel (Brenda) Francis; granddaughter, Tatiana Lord; and brother, Virgil (Bennie Mae) Johnson. Maxine is preceded in death by father, Gordon Johnson in 1962; husband, Copeland Francis in 1995; sister, Marion Sims in 2002; brother, Gordon Negroni in 2003; mother, LuBerta Johnson in 2003.
A fellowship and luncheon will be from 2-4:00 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2019 Fisher St., Madison, WI 53713.
