Maxine "Bubby" Weiss

Maxine “Bubby” Weiss peacefully passed away on October 8th, 2024.

She leaves behind a legacy of love – her beloved children, Shari (Eric) Zeldin and Todd (Roz) Weiss; her magnificent grandchildren, Emma (Milo), Jacob (Haley), Ben (Ella), Hannah, Veronica, Soul and Nora. She was a “Chosen Mother” to Amy Walden and Mickey Ryan, “Bubby” to so many, “Sister of the Heart” and dear friend to so many others. A huge gratitude of love goes out to her Sage Meadow caregivers, Toranda Jackson, Maxine’s guardian angel and many other loving caregivers: Daijah, Mia, Abbie, Lee Lee, Essie, Annette and others. Thank you to her SSM Hospice Nurse Charlie and Hospice chaplain, Sister Georgine, both of whom provided Maxine comfort and kindness. And our gratitude to Rabbi Renee Bauer for being open to our non-traditional yet strong Jewish beliefs.

Maxine is preceded in death by Irwin Weiss, Alan Rake, her sister Marian, her sisters-in-law Irene, Fran and Maureen Weiss, her beautiful nieces and nephews that left us too early, her beloved friends Tom and Jan and her beautiful dog, Sasha.

A potluck Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 14th at 5:00p.m. at the Goodman Center, 214 Waubesa St., Madison. The service begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the potluck and story sharing until 7:30.
