Maxwell Schultz

April 3, 1978 — July 5, 2015

Deerfield / Algoma - Maxwell Gordon Schultz, age 37, unexpectedly passed away on July 5, 2015. He was born on April 3, 1978, son of Craig and Sandy Schultz.

Max went to school at St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and Algoma High School. In high school, he met and fell in love with Rebecca Priebe. Graduating in 1996, Max moved out west for college. He and Rebecca graduated from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. He graduated from Mesa State College in 2000 with a Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis on Metal Smithing. Maxwell and Rebecca moved back to Wisconsin to be with family and soon married on August 23, 2003. Max became a nationally recognized goldsmith and started M&L Jewelers with his business partner Logan Erickson in 2009. Max and Logan built the business from his basement to a successful store front and being a nationally known custom jewelry design and repair shop. He enjoyed off-roading, planning over landing adventures, biking and hiking to remote areas, boating, and most of all being with his children.

Max is survived by his wife, Rebecca; 3 children, Lillian Lucille, George Craig, and Dexter Philip; parents, Craig and Sandy (Tinklenberg) Schultz; sister, Molly (Tim) Hedlund; grandma, Alice Tinklenberg; father and mother in-law, Philip and Sharon Priebe; sister in-law, Stephanie (Brad) LeGreve; niece, Jorden; and nephew, Mitchel LeGreve. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harriet and Gordon Schultz; grandpa, Mel Tinklenberg; and aunt, Mary Schultz LeFebvre.

A celebration of life will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Cress Funeral Home, 201 Bue St., Deerfield, WI. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of service on Monday. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service at The Rail House, 12 S Industrial Park Rd, Deerfield, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the family. Donations can also be sent to the Rebecca Schultz and Schultz Children Fund at Bank of Deerfield, P.O. Box 85, Deerfield, WI 53531.
