May Peters

May 8, 1926 — May 26, 2016

May F. Peters, age 90 of Madison, WI exchanged her broken earthly body for a perfect Heavenly one on Thursday, May 26, 2016. She was born on May 8, 1926 in Reeseville, WI to parents Percy and Vanita (Bickel) Volkert. May graduated from the UWMadison School of Music and taught choral music in Tomah, WI before marrying Robert Peters in 1951. For 33 years, she directed the church choir in Neillsville, WI.

As a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Madison, she sang in its choir and for many years, shared her gift of singing with the Madison Symphony Chorus. We know that she is now in the presence of Jesus, probably singing before Him in the Heavenly Choir with her sisters, Ruth and Grace. And we would suppose that they are being accompanied by her brother, Robert and both parents, all of whom have preceded her in death.

She is survived by her faithful brotherinlaw and his wife, several cousins, many beloved nieces and nephews, and her devoted friends.

"A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam. And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world. But then it flies again, and although we wish it could have stayed, we feel so lucky to have seen it at all." (Author Unknown). And so it is with our beloved May.

Having just celebrated her 90th birthday together, we ask that you now join us in celebrating her life and Eternal homecoming at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4100 Nakoma Rd. Madison. In lieu of floral expressions, memorials may be made to Westminster Pres. Church or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy Fitchburg, WI, 53711.

Heartfelt thanks to both the Outpatient and Inpatient staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their compassionate, respectful, and tenderloving care for May.

"And the God of all Grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast." I Peter 5:10
