At age 79, Dick passed peacefully to better place with his wife, Deana, by his side. Dick’s frequent challenges with serious medical issues throughout his life demonstrated his unfailing courage by always facing struggles with positivity and determination. Dick enlisted in the military following high school and honorably served in the US Army stationed in Europe during the Vietnam War Era. There he developed his expertise in driving vehicles of any make and size.
Dick was well known in the Monroe area and most recently in Stoughton while he owned and operated Zentner Insurance and Real Estate Agency beginning in the 1970’s. He took pride in being a life-long Optimist Club member and enjoyed many civic and professional activities. Many people will remember Dick for his friendliness and ease of talking to anybody.
Dick leaves 6 children: Sheila (Tracy) Zentner, Lori Anderson, Shawn Marie (Alan) Andrews, Rich (Erica) Zentner, Dennis Zentner and Audra (Joshua) Mulligan. Grandchildren: Brandon Anderson, Anna Zentner and Lauren Zentner. Sisters: Beverly (Tom) Bordner, Oklahoma, and Melvetta Gerber, Colorado. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Doris Zentner of Monroe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rutland Center Church Historical Building, 687 US Hwy 14, 3 miles south of Oregon at 3:00pm on Thursday, June 1st. Military honors will follow.
