Merlin R. Buckley

Merlin Richard Buckley, age 78, passed away on August 20, 2024. He was born March 8, 1946 in the Town of Burke to the late Oliver and Mary (Stallmen) Buckley. He worked for many years at American Family Insurance as a custodian. 

Merlin is survived by his fiancé Penny Emerson; sister Janet (Tom) Williamson; and he is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brothers Roger and DeWayne.

Merlin was most comfortable in blue jeans, and the family asks you to wear jeans if you are comfortable to join them in doing so.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday August 28, 2024 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI with Rev. David Brynelson presiding. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Burke Lutheran Cemetery.

Merlin’s family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at the V.A. Hospital and also the staff at Heartland Hospice.

Memorials may be made to the William S. Middleton Veteran’s Memorial Hospital or Heartland hospice.
