Michael Brooks

Lodi-Michael John Brooks, age 61, passed away on Wednesday November 9, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. Mike was born in Willard, Ohio on April 30, 1950 to John & Marlene Brooks. He was united in marriage with Barbara (Haas) on September 22, 1989. Mike served in the US Navy as a maintenance mechanic aboard submarines for 9 years. He later retired from Printing Development, Inc. in Racine, WI after 22 years where he also worked as a maintenance mechanic. Most recently, Mike worked at Liberty Square Senior Apartments in Sun Prairie where he formed great friendships with many of the residents. Mike enjoyed tinkering and woodworking and could fix anything. Mike also enjoyed gardening, boating and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Barb; his children, Melissa Brooks, Sarah (Barry) Robbins, Shannon (Chris) Theis, Ben and Nathan; 12 grandchildren; his sisters, Donna (Bob) Sieber, Patti (Ron) Cook, Bonnie Lierenz and Janelle (Phil) Southard. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie with a Memorial Service celebrating his life at 12:00 (noon). Mike was a man of great faith and rests in the loving arms of our Lord.
