Mike was born and raised in Marengo Il where he lived most of his life. There he attended Washington School and Marengo Community High School. Following high school, Mike served in the US Navy and was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. Upon returning, he married his first wife Patti and had 3 children. During these years Mike resided with his family on N. State Street and worked mostly in construction, eventually opening his own company North American Installations. Years later, Mike met his current partner, Brenda. After a few years in Marengo, they moved together to Stoughton, Wi. Mike and Brenda have resided together in Stoughton for the last 22 years.
Although it is difficult to summarize the life of a man who was such a colorful character it could be said that Mike was always the life of the party. He was extremely charismatic and one of the funniest people you could ever know. He always gave nicknames to people he liked and had lots of one-liners that people will use for many years to come (1,000 women, Pinocchio, the Bear, Weird f’in O, etc). He loved life and had many pastimes including hunting, fishing, boating, playing in one of his many bands, relaxing by the pool, or having a drink and a laugh with friends. To those closest to him he could be a p.i.t.a. at times, but we would not have it any other way. He made huge impressions on us all and we will miss him dearly.
There will be 2 celebrations in Mike’s honor, the first being on February 3rd, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Deak’s in Stoughton; the second will be held on February 4th, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Northside Tap in Marengo, IL.
